CVTL Strengthens Leadership Capacity Through Fundraising Capacity Workshop in Dili

Dili, 18–19 December 2025 – The Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste (CVTL) successfully conducted a two-day Fundraising Capacity Workshop for members of the National Board (CDN), Municipal Boards (CDM), and 13 Branch Coordinators. The workshop aimed to strengthen leadership capacity in resource mobilization and promote long-term organizational sustainability.

Organized by CVTL National Headquarters (NHQ) through the Fundraising Working Group (FWG), the workshop was officially opened by CVTL President, Mrs. Madalena Soares Hanjam, accompanied by the Secretary General of CVTL, Mr. Agapito da Silva. A total of 26 participants took part in the workshop, including 8 women and 18 men, representing leadership at national, municipal, and branch levels.

In her opening remarks, Mrs. Madalena Soares Hanjam emphasized that the objective of the workshop was to strengthen the strategic role of leaders, board members, and coordinators in fundraising and resource mobilization. She highlighted the importance of enhancing decision-makers’ capacity to support and guide fundraising efforts effectively, while providing strong oversight and advocacy for organizational initiatives.

The workshop also aimed to promote a culture of sustainability across all levels of CVTL and to contribute to the long-term success and impact of its humanitarian mission in Timor-Leste.

This important capacity-building initiative was supported by the Australian Red Cross (ARC), reaffirming its continued partnership and commitment to strengthening CVTL’s institutional development and humanitarian response capacity.
