15–18 September 2026, Covalima – The Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste (CVTL) Covalima Branch conducted a four-day training on greenhouse management and horticulture for community members in Bauraikun Sub-Village, Taz-Hilin Village, Covalima Municipality.
The training brought together 11 community members, including six females and five males, with the aim of strengthening their knowledge and practical skills in horticulture and greenhouse-based agricultural practices. The activity also promoted climate-adapted farming practices to help communities respond to changing environmental conditions and strengthen household food security.
Throughout the four-day training, participants gained practical knowledge related to greenhouse cultivation and horticultural practices, with a focus on approaches that can support sustainable agricultural production and improve access to nutritious food within the community.
The training was facilitated by Monica Soares, Program Manager of the GASC at CVTL National Headquarters, together with Camila Primaveira de Jesus Exposto, a CVTL Volunteer from the Covalima Branch.
This activity was supported by the American Red Cross (AmCross), contributing to CVTL’s efforts to strengthen community resilience, promote climate-adapted livelihoods, and support food security at the local level.
