CVTL Strengthens Logistics Capacity Across 13 Branches Through Four-Day Training
On 25 September 2026, Ermera – Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste (CVTL), through our Department of Logistics, successfully completed a four-day training on Procurement, Warehousing, and Fleet Management, bringing together Branch Operational Officers (BO) and drivers from 13 CVTL branches to strengthen practical skills and improve logistics management.
Held from 22–25 September 2026 at the CVTL Ermera Branch Training Hall, the training brought together 24 participants, including 8 females and 16 males. The sessions focused on procurement procedures, warehouse management, and fleet management, with an emphasis on the efficient, transparent, and responsible use of organizational resources.
Participants took part in theoretical sessions, practical exercises, group discussions, and experience-sharing, allowing them to apply logistics procedures to their day-to-day responsibilities and identify practical areas for improvement at the branch level.
Mr. Eugenio Pinto, Head of the CVTL Logistics Department, said strengthening the capacity of operational officers and drivers is essential to ensuring effective support for CVTL programs and operations.

The knowledge gained through this training can be applied directly in their daily work and will contribute to stronger logistics management across CVTL branches.
The training also benefited from technical support from Mrs. Cassie Stephens, Procurement and Logistics Specialist from the Australian Red Cross (ARC), who worked alongside the CVTL Logistics team to facilitate the sessions and share practical experience in procurement, warehousing, and fleet management.
The training provided an opportunity to work together with the CVTL Logistics team and participants to strengthen practical understanding of logistics systems. By combining technical sessions with practical exercises, participants were able to discuss challenges and identify ways to apply good logistics practices in their daily work.
For participants, the training strengthened their understanding of procedures and responsibilities that directly affect daily operations. Mrs. Maria Fernandes, Operational Officer, CVTL Branch Oe-Cussi, highlighted learning on procurement, warehouse management, documentation, and accountability, while a participating Mr. Joaquim Sarmento, Dili Branch driver, emphasized improved understanding of vehicle management, safety, maintenance, and reporting.
The training is expected to support more consistent logistics practices across CVTL branches, helping staff and drivers manage supplies, equipment, vehicles, and other operational resources more effectively in support of humanitarian programs and services.
The activity was supported by the Australian Red Cross (ARC), reflecting continued cooperation to strengthen CVTL’s organizational systems, technical capacity, and operational readiness.
