From October 7-9, 2024, Mr. Domingos da Costa Oliveira, the Finance Coordinator of Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste (CVTL), participated in the Finance Development and Financial Management Workshop held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The event brought together representatives from National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies across the Asia-Pacific region.
Mr. Domingos expressed his enthusiasm about attending the workshop, highlighting the opportunity it provided to strengthen CVTL’s financial systems. He emphasized that learning from best practices and strategies shared during the event would significantly benefit the organization’s development.
The workshop was officially opened by Mr. Vijay Kumar Ummidi, who outlined its key objective—to enhance financial management and development across National Societies by promoting collaboration and knowledge exchange. Participants discussed various strategies and case studies on improving financial governance and accountability.
Funded by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the workshop included participants from numerous countries, including Fiji, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Norway, and the USA. The diverse range of attendees aimed to foster cross-border partnerships and improve financial practices within humanitarian organizations globally.
