Boracay, Philippines, 2–5 March 2026 – Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste (CVTL) Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Project Manager, Rosalia Martins Araujo, participated in the Regional Capacity-Building Workshop on Disaster-Responsive Social Protection (DRSP) and Inclusive Disaster Management held in Boracay, Philippines.
The workshop aimed to strengthen participants’ knowledge of Disaster-Responsive Social Protection (DRSP) principles, global and regional frameworks, and the importance of inclusive social protection in disaster management. It also enhanced participants’ capacity to design, implement, and monitor DRSP interventions.
According to Ms. Rosalia Martins Araujo, the training provided valuable opportunities for learning and collaboration among regional partners. The activity included interactive exercises, scenario-based learning, peer-to-peer discussions, and guidance on the DRSP process to ensure practical outcomes aligned with regional strategies.
The workshop brought together representatives from National Disaster Management Organizations, National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Civil Society Organizations, United Nations agencies, the Asian Development Bank, the Government of Canada, the ASEAN Secretariat, the AHA Centre, the Timor-Leste Civil Protection Authority, and the Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste.
The participation of CVTL in this regional workshop reflects its continued commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness and promoting inclusive approaches to disaster risk management in Timor-Leste.
