CVTL Ainaro Branch and Ministry of Agriculture Train Farmers in Ernaru on Modern Horticulture Techniques

Ainaro, 24–25 July 2025 – The CVTL Ainaro Branch, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture’s Department of Horticulture, organized a two-day training program for farmer groups in Ernaru Sub-Village, Ainaro Municipality. The training aimed to strengthen farmers’ knowledge and skills in horticulture to improve crop quality and productivity.

MAP Senior Extensionist Mr. Orlando da Luz Santos, who facilitated the sessions, explained that the program combined theory and hands-on practice. Topics included plant nursery preparation and construction, effective fertilizer use, and proper application techniques. Farmers actively participated in the practical demonstrations, gaining valuable insights to apply in their own fields.

As part of the program, participants received seeds for broccoli, lettuce, and cabbage, along with fertilizers POKNASA, SUPERNASA, and HARMONIC to support immediate implementation of the training. A total of 21 farmers took part in the event, including eight women and thirteen men. The activity was made possible through support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea (MOFA) via the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
