Ainaro, 22 July 2025 – The Secretary General of Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste (CVTL), Mr. Luis Pedro Pinto, alongside National Society Development Coordinator Mr. Agapito Soares, held a coordination meeting at the CVTL Ainaro Branch Office with key local authorities and partners. Among the attendees was Mr. Md. Sazad Ansari, the American Red Cross Country Representative in Timor-Leste, who joined the discussions to support collaborative development efforts in the region.
The meeting brought together representatives from the Directorate of Land and Property, the Administrator of Ainaro Post Administrative, the President of the CVTL Ainaro Branch, and local staff and volunteers. Mr. Pinto emphasized that the primary aim of the meeting was to strengthen cooperation with local stakeholders to support the expansion of CVTL infrastructure in Ainaro.
A major highlight of the event was the official signing of a contract agreement with a selected contractor for the construction of a new CVTL regional warehouse in Ainaro. The facility, which will significantly boost disaster preparedness and logistics capacity in the southern region, is a key investment supported by the American Red Cross (Amcross).
Following the meeting, participants conducted a joint site visit to assess the proposed construction locations. This initiative marks an important step toward enhancing CVTL’s operational readiness and ensuring timely humanitarian response in Ainaro and surrounding areas.
