28 July 2026, Bobonaro – The Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste (CVTL) Bobonaro Branch participated in the 4th World Mangrove Day celebration by providing First Aid services and taking part in a mangrove planting activity. The event was organized by the Secretary of State for Forests at Bee Malae, Sanirin Village, Balibo Administrative Post, Bobonaro Municipality.
During the event, CVTL volunteers and staff provided First Aid services to participants, ensuring immediate assistance was available in case of illness or injury before professional medical care could be accessed. Alongside this humanitarian service, the team joined other participants in planting mangrove trees to help protect coastal ecosystems, preserve marine biodiversity, and promote environmental conservation.
Sandra Coreia, Coordinator of the CVTL Bobonaro Branch, said the branch was invited by the Secretary of State for Forests to support the annual World Mangrove Day celebration by providing First Aid services.
“Today, CVTL Bobonaro Branch was invited by the Secretary of State for Forests to provide First Aid services during the 4th World Mangrove Day celebration. Besides ensuring the safety of participants, we also joined the mangrove planting activity to help protect our marine biodiversity and strengthen environmental conservation. Although the location is far from our branch, our volunteers and staff were pleased to participate and contribute to this important initiative,” she said.
CVTL remains committed to supporting activities that promote both community well-being and environmental sustainability. Through our humanitarian services and volunteer engagement, CVTL continues to work with government institutions and partners to build safer, healthier, and more resilient communities across Timor-Leste.
