Liquíça, 10 December 2025 – The CVTL Liquíça Branch conducted an information-sharing session on Family Disaster Response Planning for 86 households from four villages Nunuana, Pametapu, Lebumeta, and Darulara located in Vaviquinia Village, Maubara Administrative Post, Liquíça Municipality.
The activity aimed to strengthen community resilience by promoting the Family Disaster Response Plan, with a particular focus on how families can share responsibilities in preparing for and responding to disasters such as landslides. Through this approach, families were encouraged to identify risks, plan roles, and improve coordination during emergencies.
During the session, Monica Soares, GASC Program Manager, highlighted the importance of family-level preparedness in reducing disaster impacts. Participants also received essential preparedness materials, including TOA loudspeakers, First Aid Kits, and plastic watering cans to support early warning and emergency response efforts.
The activity included a disaster simulation exercise focused on landslide response, involving 60 community members 34 men and 26 women who actively practiced emergency procedures and coordination.
The initiative was implemented by CVTL National Headquarters (NHQ) in collaboration with the CVTL Liquíça Branch, with strong participation and support from community members and the four village chiefs of Nunuana, Pametapu, Lebumeta, and Darulara.
This activity was supported by the Civil Society Support Office (GASC), reinforcing its commitment to enhancing community preparedness and disaster resilience at the local level.
