Landslide in Ermera Forces Evacuation of Residents

12 July 2024, Ermera – A landslide in Caiturloa Hamlet, Urahou Village, Hatulia B Administrative Post, has forced the evacuation of residents from eight households. The landslide, which occurred in the early hours, prompted immediate action from local authorities to ensure the safety of those affected.

The CVTL Ermera Branch, in collaboration with the Civil Protection Authority (APC) of Ermera Municipality, swiftly moved the victims to a secure location. Emergency response teams set up temporary tents to provide shelter for the displaced families. The rapid response highlighted the effectiveness of local emergency preparedness and coordination between the CVTL and APC.

In addition to providing temporary accommodation, the response teams distributed essential supplies to the evacuees.
