On July 11, 2024, in Covalima, representatives from the CVTL National Headquarters and CVTL Covalima Branch, in partnership with the CRS STRONG programme team, convened with the Director of the Municipal Health Services of Covalima. The meeting’s agenda focused on initiatives to enhance the nutrition and health of adolescent women in the region.
The collaborative discussion emphasized the importance of targeted nutritional interventions, particularly for adolescent women. The Director of Municipal Health Services expressed commitment to addressing these health challenges and outlined strategies to improve the nutritional status of young women, which is critical for their overall development and future well-being.
Following the meeting, the team engaged in community outreach activities, highlighting the significance of awareness and education. They attended a socialisation session on anaemia and iron folic acid supplementation at EBC Ladi in Debos Village. This event aimed to inform and educate adolescent female students and their parents about the critical role of iron and folic acid in preventing anaemia and promoting better health outcomes.
These efforts underscore a broader initiative to foster community health and nutrition awareness. By working together, CVTL, CRS STRONG, and local health services are making strides toward ensuring healthier futures for adolescent women in Covalima.
