CVTL Aileu Volunteers Lead Dengue Prevention Awareness in Taratihi Community

Aileu, 15 April 2026 – Volunteers from the Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste (CVTL) Aileu Branch conducted a dengue prevention awareness session focused on Aedes aegypti mosquitoes in Taratihi Sub-Village, Hurai Raco Village, Aileu Villa Post-Administrative, Aileu Municipality.

According to Mr. Abril, Coordinator of the CVTL Aileu Branch, the activity aimed to educate the community on the risks of dengue fever and practical steps to prevent mosquito breeding. During the session, volunteers distributed a total of 40 educational posters and reached 23 households.

In total, 99 community members participated in the awareness campaign, including 60 females and 39 males. The initiative helped strengthen community knowledge on maintaining clean environments and eliminating stagnant water sources where mosquitoes breed.

This activity was supported by the Rapid Response Fund (RRF) of the American Red Cross (AmCross), reinforcing ongoing efforts to reduce dengue transmission in vulnerable communities.

CVTL encourages all community members to take an active role in dengue prevention to protect themselves and their families.
