CVTL Team Conducts Enhanced Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment (EVCA) in Selected Villages of Manufahi and Ainaro Municipalities

From February 24 to 26, 2025, the Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste (CVTL) team conducted a refresher training on Enhanced Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment (EVCA) for selected villages in Manufahi and Ainaro municipalities. The training focused on improving community capacity in assessing risks, identifying practical risk reduction measures, and enhancing overall resilience.

Ms. Elisabeth Belo, ICBRR Project Manager, emphasized that the objective of the training was to better understand the risks and challenges facing the community, identify relevant and practical actions to reduce those risks, and strengthen resilience based on community priorities. Additionally, the goal is to raise awareness, mobilize resources within the community, and implement the risk reduction action plan externally.

The target villages include Babulu Village (comprising Nunufu and Sarema sub  – villages), Mindelu Village (including Aidila, Orsenaco, and Binani hamlets) in Manufahi Municipality, as well as Manelobas Village and Ernaro B Village in Ainaro Municipality, engaging 176 community members (77 females and 99 males). These sessions offered hands-on experience and strategic discussions on risk identification and mitigation planning, ensuring tailored approaches to meet the specific needs of each village.

The training was facilitated by CVTL national and branch-level trainers and was made possible through funding support from ICBRR MOFA. CVTL remains committed to strengthening community resilience through capacity-building initiatives, ensuring that local communities are better prepared to face future challenges.
