CVTL Enhances Awareness and Expands Volunteer Network Among Timorese Youth

The Dissemination Team of Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste (CVTL) conducted impactful awareness sessions on January 8-9, 2025, reaching 628 students across three schools in Timor-Leste. The sessions were held at Kay Rala School in Manatuto Municipality, Crystal Vocational Technical School in Covalima Municipality, and Tirilolo General Secondary School 01 in Baucau Municipality. With 306 female and 322 male participants, these events aimed to deepen students’ knowledge of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and inspire them to contribute as volunteers.

Students gained insights into the history and mission of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, its emblem, and its seven Fundamental Principles, as well as CVTL’s auxiliary role in serving vulnerable communities. The sessions also highlighted CVTL’s various humanitarian activities across Timor-Leste, underscoring the importance of volunteerism in creating resilient and compassionate communities.

By fostering a better understanding of its work and values, CVTL hopes to expand its network of dedicated volunteers. These new recruits will play a vital role in supporting humanitarian efforts, addressing the needs of vulnerable populations, and building stronger, more inclusive communities across the nation.
