Dili, 4 February 2026 – The Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste (CVTL) was honored to receive a courtesy visit from the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Centre), led by its Executive Director, Mr. Lee Yam Ming.
The AHA Centre delegation included Mr. Krishna Putra Tanaja, Deputy Executive Director; Ms. Agustina Tnunay, Assistant Director for Preparedness & Response; Mr. Abdul Aleem Siddiq, Assistant Director for Strategic Planning, Monitoring & Partnerships; and Mr. Sadhu Zukhruf Janottama, Disaster Monitoring & Analysis Officer. The visit took place at the CVTL National Headquarters in Formosa, Dili.
During the visit, the AHA Centre held an official meeting with the President of CVTL, the Secretary General of CVTL, and CVTL staff. The meeting was also attended by the Representative of the IFRC in Dili, Head of the ICRC office in Dili, and the Representative of the American Red Cross. Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation, sharing experiences, and enhancing coordination in disaster management and humanitarian response, particularly in light of Timor-Leste’s status as a new ASEAN Member.
Mr. Lee Yam Ming, Executive Director of the AHA Centre, emphasized that the visit and discussions would further enhance mutual understanding, reinforce institutional collaboration, and support Timor-Leste’s integration into ASEAN’s regional disaster management and humanitarian assistance mechanisms.
On behalf of CVTL, President Ms. Madalena Soares Hanjam and Secretary General Mr. Agapito da Silva expressed their sincere appreciation and warm welcome to the AHA Centre delegation. They highlighted the importance of the visit in strengthening institutional partnerships and supporting Timor-Leste’s integration into ASEAN’s regional disaster management framework.
