Dili, December 9-12, 2024 – The Commercial First Aid Team of the Timor-Leste Red Cross (CVTL) successfully conducted a comprehensive First Aid training program for the staff of Eletricidade de Timor-Leste, Empresa Públika (EDTL E.P), focusing on enhancing workplace safety and emergency preparedness.
The training, held over four days, equipped 24 participants (3 female and 21 male) with essential skills to address injuries, fractures, and other emergencies. Participants learned critical techniques for providing First Aid support before medical professionals arrive, enabling them to respond effectively during workplace incidents.
Led by an expert CVTL trainer and First Aider, the program emphasized practical application and real-life scenarios to ensure the staff could confidently manage emergencies. The initiative reflects EDTL E.P’s dedication to fostering a safe and secure working environment.
During the opening, Ms.Vidiana Xareal, CVTL’s External Relations Coordinator, expressed gratitude to EDTL E.P. for prioritising employee safety, stating, “Thank you for your commitment to creating a safer workplace.” This collaboration underscores the importance of training in building resilience and preparedness in Timor-Leste’s professional sectors.
