DIli, 13 February 2025, – The Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste (CVTL) participated in the workshop “National Dialogue on Anticipatory Action Protocol for Floods”, organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Civil Protection Authority (APC) of Timor-Leste. The workshop aimed to strengthen coordination and enhance the country’s anticipatory action plan for flood preparedness and response.
During the event, Ms. Emidia Belo CVTL Disaster Management Coordinator, representing CVTL shared insights on early warning systems, disaster preparedness, and effective response strategies. She highlighted CVTL’s ongoing commitment to improving community resilience and preparedness against natural disasters.
The workshop brought together key stakeholders, including FAO, the National Directorate of Meteorology and Geophysics (DNMG), the AHP – Australian Humanitarian Partnership, CARE, CRS, the Climate Centre, and the American Red Cross. Participants provided valuable input to refine the Anticipatory Action Protocol for Floods, ensuring a coordinated and effective disaster response framework.
By actively engaging in this national dialogue, CVTL reaffirmed its dedication to en hancing disaster preparedness and response in Timor-Leste, contributing to a more resilient and proactive approach to managing flood risks.
