CVTL and DH3 celebrate Valentines Day with Annual Charity Run 

15 February 2025, Dili – Happy Valentines Day! As part of an Annual tradition, the Dili Hash House Harriers (DH3) is celebrating the 14th Red Dress Day this year to support Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste (CVTL).

On Saturday (15th February), people of all ages, shapes and sizes will change from running clothes to wearing red dresses, and skirts, wigs, flowers and fake eyelashes. They are running as a fundraiser for CVTL to help support their work in helping the vulnerable.

Red Dress Day is an annual charity event held by Hash House Harriers from all around the world to help raise money for their favorite charity. The Dili Hash House Harriers traditionally give the proceeds to CVTL to help support their humanitarian work.

Luis Pedro Pinto, CVTL Secretary General said that “We love our Annual Valentines Day Event with DH3. It is so important that Red Cross is supported by groups like the Hash House Harriers to help us with our important work of helping vulnerable people across Timor-Leste. And this event brings a lot of fun and color. We are grateful for their support”.

DH3 Acting Grand Master, Mr. Bency Issac will be in charge of this year’s Red Dress Hash Run. He is expecting a good turn out on this Saturday. “We love this event every year and the fact that we can contribute to the vital work of CVTL. CVTL is always there in the community in times of disaster as well as building the reliance of the community to deal with difficult situations. We have a lot of fun and we are doing good in our community”.

Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste was established in 2000 and is a humanitarian organization, but part of an international movement. CVTL’s vision is to save lives and improve the quality of life of vulnerable people. Its work includes: Disaster Management, Dissemination, Blood Donation Mobilization, Nutrition, Community Health, Restoring Family Links, Youth and Organizational Development. It also provides first aid training for NGO’s, government, business and the community. CVTL, like all Red Cross and Red Crescent societies, recruit’s volunteers from local communities to deliver most services. CVTL has branches in each of the 13 municipalities of Timor-Leste, and its national headquarters are in the capital, Dili.
