Singapore, 12–15 August 2026 — The Disaster Management (DM) Coordinator of Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste (CVTL), Mrs. Emidia Belo, and Fundraising (FR) Manager, Mr. Sefriano Sufa, participated in the 11th Singapore Red Cross Humanitarian Conference 2026, held in Singapore from 12 to 15 August 2026.
The conference provided an important platform for humanitarian actors to reaffirm their shared commitment to building a kind, compassionate, and resilient society. Held under the theme “Humanity Beyond Today,” the conference also offered an opportunity for participants to reflect collectively on current humanitarian priorities and discuss pathways for strengthening humanitarian action in the future.
According to CVTL Disaster Management Coordinator Mrs. Emidia Belo, the conference was an important space for humanitarian organizations to exchange experiences, strengthen collaboration, and consider how the humanitarian sector can respond effectively to emerging challenges.
The conference brought together representatives from National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies from Southeast Asia and beyond, including the Singapore Red Cross (SRC), Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste (CVTL), Palang Merah Indonesia (PMI), Brunei Red Crescent Society (BRCS), Lao Red Cross (LRC), Cambodian Red Cross (CRC), Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS), and Malaysian Red Crescent Society, as well as the Korean Red Cross (KRC), Red Cross Society of China, and Nigerian Red Cross Society.
Representatives from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) also participated in the conference.
CVTL’s participation in the conference reflects its continued commitment to engaging with regional and international humanitarian partners, sharing knowledge and experiences, and strengthening cooperation to better serve communities affected by disasters and other humanitarian challenges.
Through platforms such as the Singapore Red Cross Humanitarian Conference, CVTL continues to contribute to regional humanitarian dialogue and to promote collective action towards a more resilient and compassionate future.
