Job Summary: The PGI (Protection, Gender, and Inclusion) Officer is responsible for ensuring that organizational programs and activities are designed and implemented with a focus on safeguarding and promoting the rights, dignity, and well-being of all individuals, particularly the most vulnerable groups. Integrating protection, gender, and inclusion principles across the organization’s work, advocating for inclusivity, and addressing discrimination and inequality During normal and emergencies situation. |
Key Responsibilities: 1. Program Development and Integration ♦ Develop and implement PGI strategies and action plans aligned with organizational goals. ♦ Ensure protection, gender, and inclusion considerations are integrated into program planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. ♦ Conduct needs assessments and support teams in designing inclusive programs that address the specific needs of vulnerable groups. ♦ Provide quarterly update progress of PGI, to the CVTL PGI teams and donors ♦ Ensure all CVTL programs/projects mainstreaming PGI 2. Training and Capacity Building ♦ Organize and deliver training sessions for staff, partners, and stakeholders on PGI principles, policies, and tools. ♦ Build the capacity of teams to identify and respond to protection risks and gender inequalities. 3. Monitoring and Evaluation ♦ Develop indicators and tools to monitor the integration of PGI into programs and operations. ♦ Prepare reports on PGI activities, including successes, challenges, and lessons learned. 4. Advocacy and Partnership ♦ Advocate for inclusive and equitable practices within the organization and among stakeholders. ♦ Build and maintain partnerships with other organizations, government agencies, and community groups to promote PGI principles. 5. Policy Compliance and Safeguarding ♦ Ensure compliance with organizational policies related to protection, gender equality, and inclusion. ♦ Ensuring mechanisms are in place to prevent and respond to exploitation, abuse, and harassment. 6. Stakeholder Engagement ♦ Collaborate with communities to understand their needs, priorities, and concerns. ♦ Collaborate with partners/stakeholders for any PGI related concerns and issues ♦ Ensure participation and representation of marginalized groups in decision-making processes. ♦ Pro-active coordination and participation as well as organize the PGI related network

Key Competencies and Skills ♦ Knowledge on PGI and international standards (e.g., Sphere Standards, IASC Guidelines). ♦ Excellent communication, advocacy, and facilitation skills. ♦ Ability to conduct assessments and develop action plans. ♦ Ability to organize training and workshop/conference ♦ Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting. ♦ Problem-solving and decision-making abilities. ♦ Familiarity with safeguarding (gender, disability, child protection and PSEAH) policies and mechanisms. |
