ICBRR Donors Commend CVTL’s Impact During Community Visit in Manufahi and Ainaro

From 17 to 19 June 2025, donors of the Integrated Community-Based Risk Reduction (ICBRR) program conducted a field visit to target communities in Mindelo and Babulo villages (Manufahi Municipality) and Manelobas villages (Ainaro Municipality) to observe the implementation and progress of various program components. The ICBRR program, led by the Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste (CVTL), focuses on key areas such as Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), Health, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Livelihoods, and Youth Engagement.

The visiting delegation comprised representatives from the Korean Red Cross, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in Jakarta and Dili, as well as the Asia Pacific Regional Office. Notable attendees included Ms. Hyemin Im, Delegate, Partnership and Programme, SPRM, Asia Pacific Regional Office, Ms. Ewinur Machdar, Coordinator, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Ms. Tetty Rajagukguk, DRM Specialist IFRC Delegation Office in CCD Jakarta, and Mr. Macario Lopes (IFRC representative in Dili), along with CVTL ICBRR staff from national headquarters and branches.

During the visit, donors interacted directly with local authorities, youth, and community members to hear first-hand about the benefits and challenges of the on-going programs. They observed the tangible results of the ICBRR interventions, including improved access to clean water, strengthened disaster preparedness, and increased community engagement in health and livelihood activities.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the donors Impressed with the Progress of implementation despite the challenges and constraints being faced by the Project Partner, stating: “We are happy with CVTL’s progress, which is clearly bringing a positive impact to the communities. We reaffirm our commitment to continue supporting CVTL until the project is fully completed.” The visit concluded with strengthened partnerships and renewed dedication to building safer, more resilient communities across Timor-Leste.
