ANNOUNCEMENT FOR COMMUNICATION & DISSEMINATION MANAGER POSITION APPLICATION FOR INTERNALLY CVTL AND EXTERNALLY (1 POSITION)

Announcement for Communication & Dissemination Manager position Application for Internally CVTL and Externally (1 position) Determinate Contract (if possible, will start at March 2024)

Grade; 5 Level; 1 Salario; $ 370.00 ho subsidiu kargu $ 100.00

  1. To raise awareness about CVTL and its work so CVTL is trusted, respected and supported by the people of Timor-Leste and partner organizations.
  2. To manage a small team of communications staff and volunteers.

The Communications Manager must follow the Seven Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, CVTL’s Strategic Plan, Code of Conduct, Staff Regulations, policies and procedures.

Working Relationships the Communications Manager reports to the External Relations Coordinator. The Communications Manager manages the Communications Team, which currently has two staff and one international volunteer.

Responsibilities 

  1. Promotion of CVTL programs to beneficiaries and stakeholders
  • Review and implement CVTL’s Communications Strategy to include appropriate ways to tell people about CVTL (for example radio, TV, newspapers, social media, videos, brochures, posters, newsletters, display materials)
  • Include and implement communications activities from the Communications Strategy in CVTL’s Annual Plan
  • Ensure Facebook and social media is monitored daily and updated regularly to tell people what CVTL is doing to help vulnerable people.
  • Help program staff to develop IEC (Information, Education, Communication) materials they need for their work.
  • Assist with any special events such as World Red Cross Day, Volunteers Day etc.
  1. Support management of relationships with donors and partners
  • Ensure CVTL’s website is managed weekly.
  • Publish CVTL’s Annual Report in collaboration with the PMER Officer (PMER is Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting)
  • Write case studies of CVTL work in collaboration with program coordinators and manager.
  • Assist with partnership meetings.
  1. Resource mobilization and fundraising activities
  • Support CVTL’s Annual Appeal with publicity and resources (stickers etc)
  • Maintain supply of membership cards
  • Support any promotion to CVTL members.
  1. Dissemination of the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and International Humanitarian Law.
  • Prepare dissemination material.
  • Disseminate to staff, volunteers, members, military, government, police.
  1. Communication with CVTL staff, volunteers and members
  • Develop and maintain a calendar to tell everyone what CVTL is doing.
  • Create Volunteer Induction and training materials for branches to use.
  • Assist with CVTL’s General Assembly in collaboration with the Organizational Development Coordinator
  1. Other duties the External Relations Coordinator requests from time to time.
