From 7 to 9 May 2025, the CVTL Covalima Branch hosted a three-day training focused on Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting (PMER), communication, and the use of monitoring checklists. The training aimed to enhance the participants’ skills in project planning and progress tracking while boosting their ability to communicate effectively through quality photography and concise social media messaging.
Dinis Gomes, from the CVTL Strengthening Disaster Readiness and Response (SDRR) manager, opened the event by emphasizing the importance of building local capacity to ensure efficient project implementation and accountability. The training introduced practical tools, such as monitoring checklists, to support effective oversight and timely reporting of project activities.
The training was facilitated by the CVTL National Headquarters through the Department of External Relations, PMER and Communication Division. It was delivered with technical and financial support from the American Red Cross (AmCross), highlighting the ongoing partnership to enhance disaster readiness and response.
A total of 20 participants — including 8 women and 12 men — attended the training. The group comprised project officers, branch coordinators, and volunteers from CVTL branches in Bobonaro, Covalima, and Ermera, all working together to strengthen their operational effectiveness in community-based programs.
