𝟓 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 – 𝐂𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚. 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚

CVTL President of Ms. Madalena Hanjam, together with the President of the Municipal Authority – Covalima, Mr. Miguel Armada Cardoso attended the official inauguration ceremony for clean water in 3 villages: Zulo Suku – Harecain Aldea; Lour Suku – Holitol Aldeia; and Mape Suku.

 Previously the women and children would have to walk over an hour to the river or water springs to collect clean water than bring back up the hill to their homes – now they can access water from taps close to their homes. There are 903 beneficiaries (Female – 512 and Male -391) from 299 families, and the project covered over 9 ½ Kilometer’s.

CVTL started work with the community in March 2023 and it was finalized one year later. The Facility Management Group (GMF) will be responsible for maintaining the water system, with support from the community.

This project was funded by the Ministry of Public Works (MOP).
