Ermera, 6th October, 2023, Great news – another successful water project was handed back to the community this week.

The ambassador of the New Zealand Embassy Mr Philip Hewitt and CVTL Secretary General, Mr Luis Pedro Pinto, together with the Executive Director of SASCAS, Advisor to the Vice Prime Minister of Timor-Leste, Representatives from the Secretary of State for Water and Sanitation, the Ermera Municipality Administrator, and local authorities were in Aihatadio and Manulete Hamlets, Coliate Village, Hatulia Administrative Post (Ermera Municipality) for the handover ceremony.

A total 937 people from 196 households benefited from this life changing project (480 females and 457 males).

This water system was implemented with support from New Zealand Red Cross, Korea Red Cross, and British Red Cross though the Consortium Program who led by Australian Red Cross.

This CVTL program not only provided water, but also implemented health promotion and prevention activities, livelihood projects to increase family incomes, disaster risk reduction dissemination, and youth activities in the Coliate Village.
